Coupons
Create percentage and fixed discounts with usage limits, scheduling, and course scope.
Coupons are built into the free plugin. Manage them at CourseGlade → Coupons and click Create Coupon.
The create form
- Coupon Name — a friendly label (e.g. “Summer Sale 2024”)
- Coupon Code — what students type; the dice button generates a random 8-character code
- Discount Type — Percentage (%) or Fixed Amount ($), with the amount below (percentage is capped at 100)
- Minimum Order Amount — leave blank for no minimum
- Usage Limit — total uses allowed (blank = unlimited)
- Per-User Limit — uses per customer (blank = unlimited)
- Start Date / Expiry Date — the valid window (blank = immediately / never)
- Applies To — All courses or Specific courses (with a course picker)
- Status — Active or Inactive
Usage is tracked and claimed atomically, so a limited coupon can’t be over-redeemed.
The coupon list
The list shows Name, Code (with a copy button), Discount, Usage (used / limit), Applies To, Expires, and Status, with Edit and Delete actions.
How students apply a coupon
Students enter the code at checkout; the discount comes off the order total before payment. An invalid code simply doesn’t apply — the order proceeds at full price. A 100%-off code routes the order through free enrollment automatically.
Launch tips
- Use a per-user limit of 1 for one-time promos.
- Add an expiry date to launch windows so codes retire themselves.
- Combine a minimum order amount with a fixed discount to protect margins on cheaper courses.
