Where CourseGlade stores data, data-retention controls, and uninstall behavior.
CourseGlade keeps your data in your own WordPress database and does not phone home.
Where data lives
Courses, lessons, and quizzes are WordPress content. Enrollments, progress, orders, quiz attempts, coupons, earnings, discussions, reviews, and wishlists live in CourseGlade’s own database tables, indexed for performance.
Data retention
Under Settings → Advanced → Data Retention, control what happens when an enrollment is deleted:
- Delete Progress Data — remove lesson progress and time tracking
- Delete Quiz Attempts — remove quiz attempt history
- Anonymize Discussions — replace the student’s name with “Anonymous” on Q&A posts
Third-party services
Data only leaves your site through services you connect — Stripe for payments, and (Pro) Zoom, Google Meet, and Google Classroom. Each processes data under its own terms; OAuth tokens for Google and Zoom are stored encrypted.
Uninstall behavior
By default, uninstalling keeps your data — deactivating or reinstalling never destroys courses or enrollments.
To change that, turn on Settings → Advanced → Danger Zone → Delete All Data on Uninstall: “When the plugin is deleted from WordPress, also drop all CourseGlade database tables and options. This cannot be undone.” Pro respects the free plugin’s setting.
GDPR
Because data stays in your database and you control third-party connections, CourseGlade fits standard WordPress GDPR workflows — use WordPress’s built-in personal-data export and erasure tools for subject requests.
